Continuing the series on the 7 deadly sins, today's shot is for gluttony. This shot for me is three fold, it seems today that many celebrities behaviors are a true representation of gluttony however so is our twisted interest/facination with their behavior as represented by my lovely assistant (daughter) the other angle is the non-stop, in-your-face paparazzi that in certain situations put innocent lives in danger due to our insatiable desire for more "dirt". I wanted to give this shot an old-time feel to it since this issue is not new, it has been going on for years!
Taken from Wikipedia: Gluttony (Latin, gula) Main articles: Gluttony (waste, overindulgence) Modern views identify Gluttony with an overindulgence of food and drink, though in the past any form of thoughtless excess could fall within the definition of this sin. Marked by unreasonable or unnecessary excess of consumption, Gluttony could also include certain forms of destructive behavior, especially for sport, or for its own sake. Substance abuse or binge drinking can be seen as examples of gluttony therefore, so it could be safely said that Gluttony is the overindulgence in any one thing. The penitents in the Purgatorio were forced to stand between two trees, unable to reach or eat the fruit hanging from either, and were thus described as having a starved appearance.

People love to hear dirt about other, they like to gossip. Why? I dont know. Maybe it's in human nature, when someone is doing worse than you, you feel better. Celebrities are an easy target.
This is a perfect photo for "gluttony". Looking forward to the next one.

Most insightful, Dawn. This picture really speaks volumes! And your words, full of truth. Honestly I think this the best discussion on the "real face" of gluttony (no aspersion on your lovely daughter intended! she is an excellent model! :) ) in our modern age that i've encountered for a long time. 5 stars, Dawn. ***** :)

You've captured this photograph perfectly with the use of the spotlight. Your daughter did a terrific job too! Beautiful.

Lovely use of the magazine and expressive model to capture the theme...what a great idea - can't wait to see the rest...

Great shot, great post. I might try using some reflected light to open up the shadow on her face a little. It would through some light on her features but without taking away from the main focus of the magazine cover. Awesome work none the less.

I meant throw some light...lol I got up really late and I haven't finished my coffee yet!

Makes me smile... I love the look on the face. Well done, Dawn. (I agree that the light could be a little more impressive on your daughter's face, but taking in the overall image, I don't feel it's too serious.)
